What if we simply sit down and listen to teens themselves for a change? For the past year, the creative team behind the Museum of Contemporary American Teenagers (MoCAT) has been on an art and anthropological odyssey, asking high school and middle school students across the country the same question, “What are we missing?”

we got investigative stories
We got poetry
we got canvases
we got insightful content enough for a multi-edition magazine, a traveling art show and a speaker series.
Not a moment too soon. As media outlets, governments and parents across the country struggle to understand the “Teen Takeover” phenomenon, we have notes. Come join us as teens take over the microphone and explain what they are missing and what adults are missing about them.

The Summer Pocket Talks are a series of interactive presentations and discussions, designed to kindle broader conversations and insights on timely issues and topics. All are welcome! As an attendee, you will hear from thinkers from the social sciences and humanities, be able to ask questions and discuss with speakers and other attendees, and connect with other interested in pressing topics. Complimentary tea and light refreshments are provided!
